Sacred Mornings {Celebrate This Week 2-13-16}

I love to get up early.  I am up by 4:30, even on the weekends. (A younger me would never have thought this possible.)

The time between 4:30 and 5:30 (when I need to start getting ready for work) is my favorite time of the day.  This is when I read, write, pin, post and plan.

It is "me" time.

It is sacred.

It is coffee, computer and comfy blanket time.

It is time to sit and think, sit and write, sit and read, or just sit time.

It is silence, except for the sound of the furnace kicking on, the clock ticking or the dog gently snoring at my feet.

This time stretches a bit longer on the weekends. (Oh, how I love those days!)

When it is time to return to school after a break, it is not the days that I miss.  It is my morning time.
Early mornings, I celebrate you!

  1. Great celebration! I love my morning time as well. I have been getting up earlier (although my early time is 5:00) to have time for some routines of reflection and reading. Love that mug! Have a great week!

  3. I am still sitting in my bathrobe with a cup of coffee and it's 9 AM on Saturday. I'm right there with you celebrating this sacred time. My dog and cat join me. They love it too.

  4. I like that slower morning time, too, but not quite so early anymore. I am a night owl, and it's the late evening that I really like. Glad you have your time, Jennifer.

  5. I enjoy the morning far more than the evening. Your sacred time is just a bit too early for me, but I totally get it.

  6. I can not even imagine getting up at 4:30am. Especially by choice! You do make it seem like a wonderful time of day, though. I'm like Linda B - a night owl!

  7. Oh, agreed! Morning time is the best. I appreciate when everyone else is asleep and so I can't make any noise. It's time to read, to write, to just think. Loved this celebration!

  8. Jennifer, quiet time is sacred time for me too although 4:30 is not a good morning start for me. Lately, I have been reading and writing Kate into the night when the family is asleep. Time goes by

  9. Wow. You are an early riser. Reading your words I understand why you do it and how you appreciate it. I would never be able to follow your example. Getting up at 5:30 is already too early for me.

  10. So fun to read about who the larks and owls are in our community. I'm a lark who doesn't rise quite so early now that I'm retired. :) But I always cherish the morning hours! Great mug.
