Falling so quickly the sky is a blur of white,
Coming together in giant puffs
Hurling down snowballs,
no longer just fluffy flakes
Slapping the windows
Tap...
Tap....
Tap....
Stopping suddenly.
.......Waiting......
Until the tapping continues,
this time without the flakes.
Freezing rain.
You pulled me into the moment. I was listening, waiting and observing with you.
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather. Not fun to be in, but a great thing to write about! I was right there with you!
ReplyDeletePoetry is a goal for us! Neither of us has ever tried it. Love your slice - thinking we will be experiencing it first hand in MA this evening into tomorrow!

This is a second poetic slice I read today. A poetry day. I love how with just few carefully chosen words you show us the changing weather.
ReplyDeletePerfect - this poem captures our evening exactly - snow to freezing rain.

ReplyDeleteI love how you use your space....it adds loveliness to your imagery.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I love "poem posts"! Written so delicately you can almost hear the snow and the rain. And, your poem is a perfect description of the weather right outside of my door.
