Long, dreary days of winter --
Being pushed away
With each passing day on the calendar.
Breaking free of winter's strong hold,
I venture out into the day.
I walk
I look
I listen.
Signs of spring are showing:
In the melting snow,
The muddy trails,
The spots of green grass,
The conversations of returning birds.
Spring is awakening.
I am ready.
No signs of Spring at my house but I did put out more seeds and suet so as to try to draw in birds who will help remind me that Spring will indeed arrive. Thanks for the lovely reminder. I enjoyed coming along on your walk.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes! A sign of spring in my neck of the woods today too...in the sunshine and the melting snow.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are chattering, I think they are talking about spring too. Your picture doesn't look like the hold of winter is loosening too much. Here's to warmer temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI am glad someone is seeing signs of spring because I sure am not! I just keep thinking green though!
ReplyDeleteYes please! I'm ready! I'm glad that spring is awakening! A beautiful slice of poetry!
